Lumen Architecture strives to integrate lighting into spaces so that it reveals the architectural forms to help celebrate interior finishes and materials.
Their work is in service to the overall design and prioritizes the visual experience of the end user in the space. The firm collaborate with architects, interior designers, developers and owners on projects ranging from small boutique retail spaces (Aurelie Bidermann and Aether SoHo) to large university research buildings (Fisher Translational Research Center). The change in scale between projects allows us to constantly flex and understand the balance between the ephemeral beauty of light, while also being able to address the precise and technical requirements of special illumination. Our comprehensive lighting design services allow us to work on all phases of a project, taking a schematic concept from idea through calculation and pricing, and through all parts of construction administration. Our firm’s backgrounds in disciplines of fine art, engineering, architect, psychology and theater allow us to view each design challenge from varied perspectives and with fresh eyes.
